Selling my cards

I have been selling blank photo greeting cards at the store I work at.  It's been going very well.  I'm building a kitty fund to buy myself a new tripod.  I also have them in another store in Holderness, but they have closed for the winter.  The cards are also at a winery in Gilmanton.  I'm very excited about this new adventure.  People who have seen my cards are very pleased with them and actually ask me for personal photo cards.  I just made one of a woman's house, she is going to send it to her grandson who is moving across the country.  Her message will be....you always have a home here.  Very cool!

By next spring my cards will also be in a major popular bookstore on a much larger scale, I'll be working all winter on this project.  It started this last spring.  I'm shooting new photos in all seasons of the lakes in the area, along with all sorts of other great NH eye candy.

I'm going to get this blog back up and running, I'll be uploading more photos that I have on my facebook pages.  You can find me at :  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cyrious-Photography-Moore/240811265984120?fref=ts also.  There are much more photos there, for now......

Been away too long!

I am ashamed of myself for not keeping up with this blog!  I didn't get too much action on here so I guess I simply stayed on facebook where I got action.  Well, today I uploaded a photo and then got blocked from my account for who knows what reason!  So I will be paying more attention to this blog instead of fb!  I have taken some awesome photos of some osprey and herons in our county and hope you can enjoy them like I do!

Brrrrrrrr, New Studio

I'm not getting much done outside as far as photos go.....it's way too cold out for me!  Ten degrees is not a temperature I want to visit often.  So I've been working on my new make shift home grown studio inside!  The space in my living room is available now, but what I'm needing is the background color!  I have one light set up so far, need to get the other one from the garage, my make shift light stand (an old lampstand) is incredibly stunning, kidding of course!  I have two reflectors, one white board from Walmart, one silver from NY Institute of Photography.  It's an ongoing project, but at least I've started.  I chose the corner between two windows because of the natural lighting it will have on those wonderful days of sunshine, natural is always better than man made from what I've been told.  We shall see!

For the next few weeks I will be testing out the lighting.  I'm going to use an egg, a white egg.  I only have brown ones, so I guess I'll be heading to the store.  Since it's so cold out, I think I'll ask my husband if he can stop on his way home from work to get me some nice large white eggs!  It will be fun learning how the lighting works out on my new subject ~ egg man!  I can probably use a piece of canvas to filter some of my home made lighting!  I'm interested to find out how it works out!  I'll have to post the results!  :)

Here are some photos of the beginning of my home studio:

All I need now is another light, a chair of some sort and people, lol!  I have people coming next weekend.  I'm looking forward to it!

First Photo Shoot of the 2012 Year

I got a great job offer the other day for a CD cover for an up and coming new star!!!!!  Dave who is blind has been singing Country music for the Lakes Region for many years and now wants to do a CD!  He is totally awesome btw, Allan Jackson songs and many others......!  We will be shooting for the cover soon, I'm excited about it!  His director wants to have him riding a horse in the snow in his Country attire... snow is coming Thursday to this great Lakes Region area, 6-10" yeah, so maybe next week.  Soon!

Business Cards

I finally received my new business cards the other day, but was too busy to blog about them.  I had a whole different thought as you can read earlier about what it was going to look like.  Oh well, I am please with these and they were free from Vistaprint with only shipping and handling to pay.  Not bad for 250 business cards that are professional and good looking.  I like the fresh look about these ~ love, love, love having a thank you on the back too.

I gave my first business card to my husband.  He has lots of connections in one of our best tourist towns around.  He's a snack vendor in the towns on the lake nearby.  Having lots of stores in lots of towns makes him a great connection for me.  I'm hoping I'll have to give him some more.  :)
